Scone has put Denman back in their place in a hard-fought game yesterday at Scone Park.
The Thoroughbreds went into the game without captain-coach Adam Clydesdale while the Devils welcomed last year’s grand final hooker Adam Grech back from suspension in the number 14 jersey.
The Scone backline scored all of the home team’s tries to run out 20-to-10 winners.
The same scoreline at Pirtek Park for Singleton over Aberdeen while Greta Branxton came home with a wet sail to defeat Muswellbrook 34-16 at Olympic Park.

It was Old Boys Day at Rugby Park in Singleton with an inter-club battle in the Newcastle Suburban competition.
The Reds put on an absolute lesson for their Black Bulls opponents…….thrashing them 74 points to 7.
Fullback Daniel Bates scored three tries in ten minutes and kicked five goals.
It wasn’t the only big scoreline though.
Cooks Hill smashed Singleton Army 57-nil and competition leaders Nelson Bay walloped Medowie 50-nil.
Pokolbin’s good season continues with a 24-22 victory over the Griffins.

Muswellbrook has returned to the winner’s list in the Men’s AFL Hunter Central Coast Black Diamond Shield.
The home team took out the local derby against Singleton at Weeraman Field on Saturday afternoon.
The Cats finishing 10.8.68 to the Roosters 3.6.24.
The lady Catters had the bye while the Roosterettes took on the third placed Terrigal Avoca.
The Panthers won 9.12.66 to 3.3.21.
