Upper Hunter Shire residents unhappy with their local council are being encouraged to sign a new petition.
Local and former council candidate Trish Taylor launched the document overnight on the New South Wales Parliament website.
The petition calls on the minister to consider sacking the council and bringing in an administrator.
Mrs. Taylor said she has a number of serious concerns about how the council is being managed from projects through to the budget.
The council has a high level of debt for a small rate base and is bleeding millions of dollars in a number of areas including the Scone Airport, Hunter Warbirds Museum and Scone Salyards.
“Locals can sign the petition in the knowledge that their name will be kept confidential by the parliament.”.
The Hunter Valley Newsroom has reached out to the council for comment.
