The teacher’s union said its’ members here in the Upper Hunter have fought hard to gain a decent pay rise.
The public school educators are expected to rubber-stamp the new deal offered by the State Government when they meet next week.
Under the offer….graduate teachers will become the highest paid in the country with 85 thousand dollars a year in a bid to attract more people to take up the profession.

The union’s Upper Hunter Organiser Jack Galvin Waight said top-earning teachers’ pay packets will also increase by 8 percent.
