Extra help is now available for people suffering a cardiac arrest in the Upper Hunter.
NSW Ambulance has launched a new service where anyone over 18 can sign up to be able to immediately go to the aid of someone nearby who urgently needs CPR.
Acting Commissioner David Dutton said the community responders are supported at all times until paramedics arrive by ambulance call takers and the GoodSAM app.
