Phoenix Cafe rises from the ashes after street closure

A phoenix has risen from the ashes this morning in Scone.

Phoenix Cafe owner Simon Roden has thanked Upper Hunter Shire Council for finally reopening access to the northern end of Kelly Street from the centre of town after the road was blocked for landscaping work.

Simon said the 50 percent loss of his trade has now returned.

Despite this, the council is allowing Kelly Street renovations to continue without the temporary street closure that saw him lose half of his regular trade.

Simon says the ironic thing is work is still being completed with traffic passing closely by the contractors.
