Investigations are continuing following an incident at a Cessnock motel, a high-speed chase from Denman to Mudgee, and officer struck, police shooting at a vehicle and a man in hospital at Dubbo.
Highway Patrol officers gave chase to a station wagon at Denman yesterday morning which ended in Mudgee with speeds of up to 170 k’s per hour allegedly reached.
Police tell us they then fired a number of shots towards the wagon as the driver struck a police officer and took off again.

The officer did not seek medical treatment and remained on duty.
A 30-year-old man alleged to be the driver was later arrested at Mendooran. He is under police guard at Dubbo Base Hospital.
