A man has been released on bail after having his conviction for being an accessory after the fact in an Upper Hunter murder quashed.
James Anthony Cunneen successfully appealed against his guilty verdict to the NSW Court of Criminal Appeal, that has ordered him to face a new trial for allegedly helping dump the body of Carly McBride in 2014.
Ms McBride’s skeleton remains were found in bushland at Owens Gap near Scone almost two years later.

The Daily Telegraph reports prosecutors did not oppose conditional bail for the 32-year-old in the District Court yesterday.
Cunneen had been serving a maximum seven-and-a-half-year jail sentence.
He’s been ordered to re-appear in court next month.
