A Merriwa resident said he’s really disappointed Upper Hunter Shire Council kept an appeal lodged against them over a private helipad on the quiet.
20 angry locals turned up yesterday to a conciliation conference at the controversial site on King George the Fifth Avenue just hours after hearing about the visit by the Land and Environment Court.
Several were invited to speak by the Commissioner before negotiations between the proponent, John McFadden and the Council, moved into confidential mediation discussions.

John Wightman, who lives across the road, said the council should have made them aware of what was happening.
An outcome of yesterday’s hearing is not yet known.
