A man who has dedicated his life to the Singleton community has been recognised in the Australia Day Honours List.
Gerard McMillan was the face of the Singleton Diggers Club for four decades, a long-time Rotary member and officer bearer and local church volunteer.
He’s been awarded a Medal of the Order of Australia.

Other locals honoured include Bulga and Hunter Valley District Rural Fire Service volunteer John Hedley for over 50 years of service and 80-year-old former Singleton councillor Geoff Sharrock for service to the mining industry and the community.
