Coal mining funding cut and bypass delayed

One of the worst fears for the Upper Hunter appears to have been realised in the State Budget.

The Minns Government has axed the Resources for Regions Program that returned millions of coal mining royalties back to local communities.

Upper Hunter MP Dave Layzell said the budget is all about slash and burn.

Confirmation also in the Budget that the Muswellbrook Bypass project has been put on the back burner for at least a year.

Funding for the Singleton Bypass was included in the Budget.
