Just when we all thought the red bin debate had been picked up by the garbage truck and taken to the tip, it’s been put out on the footpath again.
New Muswellbrook Mayor Jeff Drayton, who was always against the new arrangement has asked council staff to look at the issue again.
He said he wants to know how much it would cost to provide a bigger red bin to every ratepayer who wants one.

It follows a decision by the previous council to force locals to pay if they wanted more bin space after collections went from weekly to fortnightly at the start of July.
