The bitter war between Upper Hunter Shire Council and one of it’s councillors has turned nuclear this morning.
Elizabeth Flaherty said the time has come for the Local Government Minister Ron Hoenig to intervene with the councillor expressing serious concerns about how the rebuild of MR358 is being managed.
The Council has confirmed to Councillor Flaherty they have still not received a report into the previous multi million dollar repair stuff up in 2019 to know what not to do again.
The repair undertaken collapsed forcing the road to be closed since then. Upper Hunter Shire Council is about to embark on 50-million dollar project to rebuild the road.
“I don’t think they could take on a project of this magnitude,” she said.
“I think what has to happen now is an administrator needs to be appointed and that administrator needs to get onto that road as a first priority.”
