Build it and they will come.
The same approach used for the debt-riddled Hunter Warbirds Museum is now being adopted by the Mayor and some of his Upper Hunter Shire Councillors for more development at Scone Airport.
A proposal by the council to build three new hangars at the facility and lease out the space has been endorsed 5 votes to 3.
Councillors George Fraser, Peter McGill and Troy Stolz were the trio against the move.
The three new hangars at the airport will include one specifically for the maintenance of historic war planes.
The decision comes as the council voted at the same meeting to seek expressions of interest to lease the Hunter Warbirds Museum in an effort to claw back some of the debt it has left ratepayers.
