The State’s highest court has reserved its decision on an appeal by the man convicted of killing Muswellbrook woman Carly McBride.
The three-judge panel sat in Newcastle yesterday for the first time since 2005.
Lawyers for Sayle Kenneth Newsom argued he should be acquitted or at least a retrial be ordered because of several errors in his trial.

In 2021 the now 46-year-old was found guilty and sentenced to a maximum of 27 years, with a non-parole period of 19 years and nine months.
