No transparency on failed UHSC court case cost

Another example of no transparency for Upper Hunter Shire ratepayers.

As we reported yesterday…Upper Hunter Shire Council lost another case in Scone Local Court this week.

Murrurundi man Mark Middleton succeeded in having a $1500 fine thrown out despite the council not only sending a staff member but a lawyer as well.

It follows the recent case of Chris Richards from Blandford also had a $4000 fine wiped after no one from the council turned up.

We asked how much ratepayers money was spent on the lawyer who represented the council on Wednesday.

A spokesperson responded with “Council does not provide that information.”
