A warning has been issued for Upper Hunter dog and cat owners.
Start checking for ticks on your pets with animals starting to present at local veterinary practices with tick paralysis.
Dr Rachel Nugent from Pet Medical said preventative treatments are a must.

Dr Nugent is currently treating several cases which is a big concern given the tick season is only just starting in the Upper Hunter.
