A new honour for the Upper Hunter Shire which no one really wants.
The local government area was declared a risk zone for Japanese Encephalitis by health authorities.
It’s one of 14 new areas in regional New South Wales to be added to the list.

The honour comes with access to free vaccinations against the disease for any locals aged over two months.
