The Federal Government says they expect the labour hire loophole being used by Hunter Valley mining companies to hire casual staff to be removed before the end of the year.
Under current employment laws….. the companies are able to employ workers on a contract basis at a rate of up to 60-thousand dollars a year less than their permanent colleagues.
Employment and Workplace Relations Minister Tony Burke visited Mount Thorley yesterday with local MP Dan Repacholi and said everyone should be paid the same for doing the same job.
