The number of sexual touching offences in the Upper Hunter is rising dramatically.
That’s the main finding in the latest quarterly crime figures just released by the Bureau of Crime Statistics and Research.
In the past two years, the number of sexual touching offences reported locally has increased by 28%.

At the same time, the incidence of domestic violence and sexual assaults have flattened out for the first time in years.
When it comes to property crime offences including break and enters, vehicle thefts and shoplifting have stayed steady while malicious damage crimes have fallen.
