Federal Hunter MP Dan Repacholi said the new agency will focus on the local jobs market well into the future.
Singleton Mayor Sue Moore has cautiously welcomed the announcement.
She said while this is great news, the devil remains in the detail.
Muswellbrook Mayor Steve Reynolds said it’s great to see calls from himself and other local community leaders being acted on by the Federal Government.
Councillor Reynolds said he wants to know more details about what it will involve.
